Now
I am currently working on some home renovation. The deck we have around the pool was rotting away and I think it would have fallen to pieces in another year. Despite lacking any real work ethic, I decided to take on the challenge of doing the repairs myself. Those of you who know me personally will know that this is now year two that I have been going at it... I am not proud of that. The goal is to have the "grand re-opening" the first weekend of August.
Other than renovation I have been obsessed with the moody feeling or vibe that old vintage lenses provide to film and photos. So much so that I have been working on building my own C/CS mount digital camera. I would love to pick up some old vintage lenses and use those in photos or videos. The only problem is I will need to finish the camera. Building/combining the electronics, designing and iterating an enclosure, and crafting usable software for this project ended up being considerably harder than I had expected. Who would have thought that slapping a sensor on a Raspberry Pi and copy/paste-ing a command into the terminal isn't enough for an MVP. Maybe someday I will actually get this finished and have something to show on here.
